How do you know if the bond has been lodged?
Once the bond has been posted, the RTBA will issue renters a bond receipt.
The bond ID number is on the bond receipt. Save this because you can use it to search RTBA Online to view or modify bond information.
Typically, the bond receipt will be forwarded through email.
The receipt will be mailed if the renter did not provide an email address.
Only those who request one will receive a receipt from the rental company.
Only emails can be used to send receipts to property managers.
When the bail is paid, a receipt will be sent to your email. Renters should contact the RTBA at 1300 137 164 if they have not received a bond receipt within 15 business days of posting a bond. Renters can search for their bond on RTBA Online if they know their bond number. You can utilize the "bond summary" that appears as your receipt.
To handle bonds registered to them, rental providers and property managers can register on RTBA Online. Renters can examine their bond and update their contact information without registering.
