Renters making changes to the property - Changes for renters with special needs.

For renters with disabilities.

Modifications like ramps, handrails, or lever taps to make the rental property safe and accessible for a tenant with a handicap may be covered by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). "Disability-related modifications" are what these are known as.

Before making any changes, renters must obtain the written consent of the rental provider (and, if applicable, the owners corporation). Rental providers cannot unjustifiably reject adaptations linked to disabilities.
